what does The Giving Pledge mean to the nonprofit world and to your particular nonprofit specifically? In a word, nothing. The Giving Pledge will not have a great impact on giving because many of the signatories fulfilled their commitments to give before the pledge was ever conceptualized. Their signatures are commitments to do something they have already done and, therefore, do not constitute an increase in giving to charity.
