The Dog That Didn't Bark

If the issue is important, communicate frequently, even if nothing has happened. Something is nothing when you or others wait impatiently for news.

My Favorite Top 10 Comedy Movies
by
Paul Venier
I have always been a movie fanatic for as far back as I can remember and although I have enjoyed all genres, I especially gravitated to comedy movies for the most part. My father and I would sit watching comedy movies and laugh until it hurt and on Fridays in the summer, it was always a given that my parents would take my sister and I to the Drive-In Theater (Does anyone remember them?). If it was a comedy, that was a double plus for us. So, for me to say that I love comedy movies would be a vast understatement and for me to make a Favorite Top 10 list is literally next to impossible. In fact, making a Top 20 would be hard enough as it is, but I am going to try anyway. I will cover groups of movies and some solo movies and then try to accomplish my feat for the evening. And although this will be my most difficult task to date, I will most definitely enjoy the memories that these movies bring to me and hopefully for you also.

Kai Tak Remembered
by
Robert Bluffield
More than a decade has already passed since the former Hong Kong International Airport at Kai Tak closed for business on July 6 1998 to be replaced by the superb new facility built on reclaimed land at Chek Lap Kok on Lantau Island. The two airports are like chalk and cheese; one futuristic, the other was long past its sell by date; but there are still plenty who mourn the demise of the old place. Many are pilots who readily recall the adrenalin rush as they guided their aircraft along the...

Trailer Park Boys in the Tradition of Slapstick Comedy
by
Fletcher Rhoden
From the Three Stooges to Trailer Park Boys, slapstick remains a powerful comedic tradition. Why is this so, and how exactly does slapstick work? It's a lot more than taking a pie in the face.

Ed Bagley
Christmas is coming soon and everybody is busy getting ready for another holiday season. A movie can be great comic relief. We want to be entertained and interested by a story that keeps us attentive and has a happy ending. Nancy Meyers delivers what we need as the writer/director of "The Holiday", a romantic comedy with Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Jack Black and Eli Wallach.

My Psychic and Paranormal Journey - So Far
by
Edward Shanahan
At the young age of about five, my enjoyment of magic was sparked. I do not know if it was the Bozo Circus show (with Bob Bell as Bozo), or if it was something I had seen on the Ed Sullivan show. But it was 'wow' that is neat, and to a five year old it was magic.

Fear of the Dentist - Movies, Media and Negative Images
by
Dr. Dennis W. Bressack
Though we are quite respected within our communities and do possess the technology to create nearly painless dental experiences, dentistry has been and still remains the most feared and hated of all health professions... through books, cartoons, TV shows and films... that representation continues today... as well through the internet, websites, blogging, and YouTube movies. Even in 2010, there are still few if any positive dental characters or memorable passages from books or scenes from movies to counterbalance that negative image.

My 5 Favorite Feel Good Fright Flicks For Halloween
by
Dave Neal
Monsters are our friends. They teach us things and stop us from doing stupid stuff like entering dark basements in strange houses. They keep us on our toes, if nothing else.
