Quick Let's Limit The Number of Ball Bearings People Can Own - Boston Marathon Bombs
by
Lance Winslow
If we want to continue to remain a free country, we must not let the terrorists win. You see, they love to terrorize people and populations, especially folks who may not disagree with them. Personally, as a long-distance runner myself, I was personally offended by the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings. I mean, how dare anyone do something like that at the end of a 26-mile race which celebrates the human spirit, triumph and overcoming adversity.

by

There may be more terrorism events such as we saw in Boston. But each one will injure more minds than bodies, even for those thousands of miles away.

by
Blaine Moore
The 2010 Pittsburgh Marathon was a little different for some runners this year, when the race course got re-routed after the lead runners had finished. A small microwave oven was found near the course with what appeared to be explosives inside it.

How to Combat the Stress of Violence
by
Gina M Dawson
We live in a world filled with violence and uncertainty. The Boston Marathon, which is always a positive triumph, became a tragedy. How do we as Americans deal with this kind of stress when we find ourselves on the receiving end of evil intentions. One of the most important things we can do is not be intimidated by the terrorists. These attacks are engineered to make us feel afraid. We must not let them win. We can find ways to defend ourselves socially, physically and mentally.

The United States of America at the Summer Olympics: From 1896 to 2012!
by
Alejandro Guevara Onofre
Alabama-born Jesse Owens captured America's attention by earning four world titles in Berlin--- 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay, as well as the long jump. As a result of this, the United States sprinter was one of the globe's most high-profile athletes in the 20th Century. This man is of great historical significance for America. Why? His big performance came at a time when there were fewer black athletes in the global sports arena, breaking down the barriers of prejudices, and occurred with the political backdrop of Germany's Nazi regime. During Owens' days as sprinter and long jumper, he became a symbol of the struggle against racism.
