The Iron Lady - Margaret Thatcher
by
Shawna S. Ruppert
For over a decade the Iron Lady ruled the United Kingdom, and Margaret Thatcher trivia will clearly demonstrate that this was a woman of uncommon resolve, inhuman determination, and the skill and intelligence to govern a country skillfully if not perfectly for eleven years. A Margaret Thatcher quiz will say that she was born in 1925 and was raised mostly in Grantham, and has been the only woman to be the Prime Minister of the U.K., and the only woman to have been the leader of the British Conservative Party.

What Makes a Good Thatcher Great?
by
Justin K. Atkins
Thatching as a building tool has existed for centuries, but yet there are only a handful of truly skilled Thatcher's around. This is because it takes more than a passion for building and thatching to make a good thatcher, it takes dedication to the art form and a life of constantly improving ones thatching technique. In South Africa there are a number of people that are viewed as master thatchers because of their experience and dedication to the craft.

The Proust Questionnaire: Mark Bretton
by
Niamh J Byrne
It's no surprise to hear that Mark Bretton, Vice President, Head of BPO UK
Europe for Tata Consultancy Services, is happiest when he is at the top of his game. A force in the outsourcing space (and on the golf course), Mark identifies himself with Churchill when it comes to leadership speeches, but deep down is a normal kinda bloke who looks after his team....

The Social Network: A Contemporary Citizen Kane?
by
Marc Adler
Everyone seems to be saying The Social Network is the defining movie of our generation and today's version of Citizen Kane. After reading countless articles in praise of the film I finally got around to seeing it the other day, and I can say that while it is definitely the best movie I've seen in theatres in a long time, the Kane question is a bit more murky.

Movie Review - The Iron Lady (2011) (PG-13)
by
Chris Pandolfi
Mark my words: Meryl Streep's work in The Iron Lady will earn her an Oscar nomination. But don't make the mistake of believing it was preordained, stemming solely from the idea that it's fashionable to nominate her. It will happen because, true to her chameleon-like ability to virtually disappear into any role, she truly does give one of the year's best performances as Margaret Thatcher, who made history in 1979 by becoming England's first (and to date, only) female Prime Minister.

Hannibal Missouri - A Ghost Town?
by
MaryLou Driedger
Hannibal, Missouri, the home of Mark Twain, appears to be a little 'down on its luck'. It's not a ghost town yet but it's getting there.

What Politicians Can Learn From Heinz Tomato Ketchup
by
Mark Artus
Although technically David Cameron may be in number 10 and the Labour Party may be in disarray, the fact is we do not have a Conservative government. Instead we have a Liberal conservative (with a small 'c') government who will probably end up passing legislation on our voting system that will end the dominance they enjoyed for the majority of the 20th century.
