Veterans Day: Yes, It Is Important on This Eleven Eleven Eleven

When I see a U.S. military soldier in uniform, I stop and thank them for their service to our Country. At times, the person I was with became embarrassed over this simple gesture. It is our job to teach others, such as our youth or those who have never served or who have not known anyone who has served, what it is like to lose someone to war, or to appreciate the sacrifices made for us; otherwise, what is the point of being free? Why not spend this date of November 11, 2011, honoring our Veterans?
