Oakland Raiders Toss Aside Conventional Wisdom and Give Out Big Money Before the CBA Expires
by
Bernard Huntington
March 4th is the big day for the NFL. The Raiders have been the busiest lately, and if the Raiders are doing something other teams are not, it's usually the wrong decision. Let's look at those questionable decisions to show why they shouldn't be doing this.

The CBAS Of Promoting Events
by
Richard Brody
Many organizations need to run a variety of events for any number of purposes and reasons. Regardless of the type of event or how well organized that program is organized and planned, the chances of success without effective marketing and promotion is minimal. As a professional event, conference and convention planner, negotiator and organizer for more than thirty years, I am certain that events must attract attendees if they are to succeed.

How to Hire the Best Customer Service People
by
Norman Huckerby
Through many years of hiring Customer Service staff, I've found that Competency Based Assessment is by far the most effective and accurate way. That is not to say that technical abilities should not be checked, rather that this in itself is insufficient to ensure success.

Basketball: The Game, the Players, the Sporting Brands
by
Elizabeth Shim
There's always hope. That's what basketball is about," explained Matt Weston, the Australian founder of HR Hoops and formerly Technical Director of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). Weston is one of two basketball professionals AsianTalks spoke to this month, in order to learn more about how a metaphor for hope is now making inroads into Chinese cultural life. According to both Weston and Beyer, basketball in China has come a long way. Matt Beyer in Beijing observed, "On any given day, there's a good chance the people you are going to play in a pick-up game are wearing Jeremy Lin T-shirts," alluding to the infectious wave of insanity that has gripped mainland Chinese since the last NBA season. Although, as the conversation progressed, we also learned there's much more to basketball in China than the wild success of Jeremy Lin.

Cambridge Business Academy Review
by
Matthew E Peterson
Cambridge Business Academy is an online coaching program or school to train individuals on how to market effectively using the internet. More importantly, the program is designed with the vision of helping people to empower themselves and no longer be enslaved by their jobs, where they are overworked and underpaid. I should mention that although I am not involved with CBA myself, I am quite impressed with their passion and vision.

The NHL Lockout: Does Gary Bettman Have a Viable Solution
by
Robert Trundle
With the NHL's recent cancellation of the Winter Classic, I examine the NHL lockout with respect to the other sports leagues and whether or not the proposed solutions will actually address the League's financial problems. The NFL: The biggest national TV contracts, massively successful marketing deals with amazing revenue sharing that allows small markets to compete. See Green Bay, San Diego, Baltimore.
